The popularity of tattoos utterly perplexes me. Why someone would want to adorn themselves with ugly artwork that only looks worse as you age, like some bizarre reverse Dorian Grey is beyond me. The college kid at the coffee shop I go to got a tree one that goes from his wrist to his shoulder and I asked him what it meant to him and he says "Nothing, it was just cool. I guess I should have thought about that before I got it." So now he has "artwork" you wouldn't put on your wall for $10 permanently stained on his arm at great expense. And what's with all the flames, skulls and devils out there? OK, we get it, you're evil, you're tough, enough all ready - stop wearing your insecurities on your arm. And you there, the white kids from the over privileged suburbs, stop getting the tribal tattoos. The only appropriate tribal symbol you should wear is of a guy on a polo horse.
