Here in the US, many of our post offices are also luxury resorts. American Citizens may stay there, for free, for up to two weeks a year. All meals included. The service is second to none, very courteous, very detail oriented, very punctual. The smaller offices may not have lodging accommodations, but most have a full bar and smoking lounge, also free of charge. There is also usually a doctor on call to write prescriptions, do minor surgery, stuff like that. In the winter, north of the 40th parallel, the USPS also delivers hot meals and "companionship" for older, single men.Is that what a post office looks like stateside?
