@mikethompson has done a kick-ass job on this year's Secret Santa, and not just because it was part of the terms of his parole. I'm pretty sure that he's been somewhat sincere about most of it.

I think Mike would make a great candidate to take over the Secret Santa if and when you ever come to your senses and decide you've had enough of us clowns.

Happy to help promote such a great cause. As for the terms of my parole, there was a minimum level of daily posts I had to maintain.

As this seems to be slowly and sadly coming to an end, I'd simply like to say it has been a pleasure.

I checked here at least once every weekday, often much more. One of the many great aspects of it for me was the underlying theme of generosity, sprinkled liberally with pipe and tobacco "porn".

I have definitely been influenced to increase the giving associated with this any time we have another opportunity, be it bunny, Santa, or anything in between. I'm already planning and setting aside items for the next holiday season. I'd love to show pics but prefer the anonymity aspect remain in place.

For many years, my in-laws had little Christmas figurines on their mantle, angels each olding one letter of “NOEL”. Every year, when nobody was looking, I’d rearrange them to spell “LEON”. And each time I did it, mt mother-in-law, when nobody was looming, would switch them back again. It was a great cat and mouse game that we played. She had a great sense of humor, and I miss her.

We started earlier this year, I think almost as early as Hallmark, lol (which was fine) - so maybe August? The Secret Santa off season may be shorter than the Secret Santa season - like the NHL and NBA and hunting coyotes.
