I was trying hard to get an S Bang signature Per and Ulf … each one went above my zone … I was 4k in after lot 4, that’s how it goes
Fourth and final pipe for me. This is the pipe that makes me think I know whose collection this is . Google search purdy tadpole 
I got exactly what I wanted and nothing more despite the fact that my credit card likes to jump out of my wallet at an auction.
Was tempted but passed. I didn't see how the auction finished but looked like there were going to be some reasonable bargains.
The Ivarssons (both father and daughter) , Tokutomis and Gotohs fetched the big bucks. Seems like the bids went higher this auction than the last.
I have a tadpole too. Will was a great carver; you got an awesome deal. Congratulations.
Congrats on the Lars, but wow, that second Gotoh is killer. I didn't bid on anything this time around, but I did have my eye on that Purdy turtle grade as well. Very nice pick-ups ???
That’s a reflection of the inventory and the crowd it draws to place bids. The last auction was primarily American carvers (with a few notable exceptions); this one had a very large selection from the Danish and Japanese greats.
I bought five, very rare and very old English pipes this afternoon and had a twang of guilt, which I very effectively quashed by browsing this auction. The worth of one of these pipes could very easily cover my estate pipe budget for an entire year.
This isn't the end of it. There's at least one more auction to come.

I have one I smoke all the time , great pipe . If you ever want to get rid of your tadpole , I am officially colllecting them now .
No, even those beauties quickly surpassed my budget. I scored three very rare Ben Wade Leeds era seconds and a few others. I follow the Barling auctions and others out of interest but they rarely remain in my target range for long, especially in the final 24 hours.
Thanks. I view the second Gotoh as a premier example of a new Pipe design , by the creator ….I forget the name Yai- Ichi or something … Scott Klein has one for Saale now for 4K
The first Gotoh pipe , was my hedge pipe …I liked two others more . I had determined to buy one Gotoh and one Lars , but you never know how high prices can rise for scarce special pipes .
