Cool, I get 4 stars for acting naturally (i.e. obnoxious). Life don't get much easier! ???
You do realize that outside this forum there are literally zero people in the entire world who would get your joke. That’s funny. I never thought we would get this far again. Mods, please, please shut this down.

Reminded me of a time one of our equipment operators swung his excavator arm and took out the sleeping cab of a haul truck in front of the owner.
“Yep, I know, I’m fired….”
Which reminds me of the time one of my matte paintings was being photographed with a camera on a motion control rig. The cameraman screwed up the programming and sent the camera smashing into the painting. The guy calls me in a complete panic. I load up some paints, brushes, wood putty, and a heat gun and make a beeline to the studio. The cameraman looks like he's having apoplexy. I look at the painting, then at the camera, and tell him, "Everyone's a critic."
He calmed down after that, I patched the board and repainted the painting and we took the shot.

In the spirit of the original thread I’m just posting to say posting in this thread is a waste of my time.
It's a waste of more than that: time, talent, and energy.

I'm appalled common-nothingness** shit like that is still the talk of the town. Deplorable.

I read somewhere that we can tell where we shall spend eternity by looking at what events in the news stir up our passions. In the light of that, I'm even more appalled and even worried about people here. Each to his fate, though, I guess.

That view on eschatology reminds me quite a bit of Lewis’ “the great divorce”

"The Slap" sounds like it could be the next small batch C&D release, perhaps named thusly because of a higher than average nic-hit.

I hope their marketing trolls are keeping a close eye on the late night postings here. Buncha bottom line-worshipping parasites! Love your blends, by the way... ?
Small batches really need a more exotic name. Alopecia Burley perhaps?

And then there’s the time I worked up a quote on epoxy coating of welds in a pipeline. We needed 600 liters of epoxy. The manufacturer was in Calgary Canada.
I unfortunately ordered 6000 liters.
When the transport truck from Canada arrived in Corpus Christi I was in the field and received a phone call. The difference was $55,000!!
Needless to say, but I called our Texas sales rep and her worked out a deal with me where they would just sell out of our stock until the unneeded portion was gone, approximately 10 days.
Whew!!
THEN I went to my boss and explained the issue, and that I had a work-around for what was basically my annual salary.
He let me keep my job, but temporarily revoked my purchase order privileges…..

Boosted Chris Rocks already successful career, his ticket sales went way up in price!

All in all I thought it was silly shit, not worthy of the news coverage it’s getting but alas this is the world we live in.

Yes. If we’d had forums in the days of the Enquirer and the News we’d be discussing the “SATAN ESCAPES FROM HELL” headline.
The lowest common denominator is not where we should strive to be.

my only two cents are those kind of jokes are clearly part of the ceremony these days. And Will Smith knows he's too big in a business sense for Chris Rock to do anything. People talk about him taking the high road, when I think that's part of it but there is also don't bite the hand that feeds and don't be too much trouble to work with (unless you're big enough to be worth the trouble).

I'm assuming this wasn't a pre-arranged routine, which many suspected at first. Jokes about peoples' traumatic health problems are pretty reprehensible. I place a lot of the blame on Chris Rock. And he didn't suffer a broken nose or jaw from a slap. If Smith knew he would get to speak, he could have done a lot worse just by expressing what a low and cruel joke that was, which it absolutely was. Other peoples' health problems aren't comedy material, period.
the danger of using writers. And also the people it got through before it got to Chris does go through people who know about her health, which there is zero evidence Chris knew about it.
