Just got me 3 estate bulldogs and I am set on tobacco for a while. I have been shopping for a new 8 wt fly rod/reel as my indulgent gift for myself. It may not make it to me by Christmas but that is OK.
Got myself the Peterson Mark Twain Collection. I have to say, i'm very excited to get those bad boys in. I may even have to adventure out to buy myself some form of amaretto aromatic to break those lovelies in. ::
When they come (cross fingers Monday) I'll be sure to take some pictures with them in my mouth. I might even get out my Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn to complete the image. ::
@petes03, @numbersix, and @cmdrmcbragg, thank you. I can't wait to begin breaking it in.
@pipeherman, that set looks gorgeous!
@moriarty, that is a lovely Christmas pipe!
@pylorns, that's a great looking gift set you have there!
They have arrived (much earlier then predicted), the first one hangs magnificently from the mouth. Feels very light. The tankard, is not really my style yet I also love it - it would make a great lying in bed pipe . They are both much more red than the picture denotes, not something I really care much about. Great silver bands. Certainly the best way to start off the holidays, feel less bad for coughing up the cash now.
Just need to convince my brother to drop me into town to get some tabak. ::
Just placed an order with SP for a Peterson Std System 317 & a Peterson Smooth Calabash. I needed to augment my collection with some small bowls for quick smokes. When others fire up a cig I can fire up a small bowl for a quick smoke. Also purchased a few tins of 4th Gen 1957 for the cellar. Happy puffin' y'all!
puffdoggie, I'd personally recommend a Mitchell Thomas semi-churchwarden. Little bowl, light and looks nice ... especially for the price ($21). Check em out on eBay.
cmdrmcbragg, thanx for the suggestion. I took a look and will keep them in mind for the future. At the moment I was looking for a small bowl and still shortish in length. Easy to tuck into the fishing vest when angling or the leather vest cruisin' on the Harley! Happy puffin,
Dave
