Yes! This is really great stuff for vulcanite pipe stems. It's much more abrasive than flitz or any toothpaste. It's vegetable based and has no harmful chemicals. I found it's the perfect choice for cleaning the airway on an old vulcanite pipe stem. Put some on a churchwarden pipe cleaner, clamp it in a vise, hold the other end with pliers, slide the stem back and forth. It rinses off easily too. I highly recommend this stuff.

Flitz?? The stuff I use to clean guns? Isn’t that a pretty harsh chemical to use on a pipe ?

Mr clean magic eraser works good if you don’t care about the shine.

Like I said, The Pink Stuff is really great for cleaning the AIRWAY of the stem. In fact, I've found that it works so well that it removes ghost taste from the stem as well.
It feels the same as if you ground up a bar of lava soap and made a paste out of it.
I use the flitz on the outside of the stem sometimes, but at 4000 grit, it doesn't actually remove much of the vulcanite, just shines it up a bit. Never had much luck doing a good job on the airway.
