I quit trying to/trying not to anglicize words after I married a woman whose native language is not English. Much to the chagrin of educators and linguists everywhere I've found it best to try to tailor what I say to the person I'm talking too.Yup. Ah, I always strive to pronounce foreign words the way they'd sound in their original language. I don't anglicise them. Not just for German, but for other languages too. 'Cept French, there I won't even try.
That's what you get when both your parents are school teachers, I guess.
And yes, French is so colloquial it can be tricky. Like so colloquial the guy who lives across the street speaks differently.
