Even better, some of those Coulters are wretched if you want to apply any magnification. Mine is completely custom in all aspects except the tube itself. So while it's pretty tweaked, it's no Zambuto. Happy viewing!!!
No kidding! Although some of them are pretty decent mirrors. The mechanics of the optical tubes, however, are terrible, and the best examples I've seen are all rebuilt scopes built around a Coulter mirror. Back in the 80s though, if you wanted to see a lot of deep sky objects, those Coulters were where it was at! Hope you got a great view tonight! It was absolutely amazing to see both planets still close together in the EP FOV at 255x! Very cool!

Wow, that was pretty cool; smoked one of my Davidoff cigars and drank a few beers which lasted about an hour, just long enough to see the two planets dip below the tree line.
