Medical facilities in Kentucky have banned all tobacco use on their campuses. Security will escort you to your car if found in violation.

I'm sure we have something like that here.

Luckily these nurses and doctors are trying to help us... Not always the case. God is looking out for us.

The main nurse even wedged the back door open for me to step out and smoke... But I doubt she intended for me to upset the whole situation 40 times a day.

What's somebody going to come do? Ask to look inside your mouth?

It is unbelieveable that people would take issue with a person having a dip, but it's also the comming reality.

Pure meanness if you ask me.

Wondering if chewing tobacco such as Red Man and other famous brands have become less popular in the US ,or is in rural areas where folks may are still buying that stuff..
Its in nearly every gas station I go to in Los Angeles of all places, so someone's chewing it. It's just "Americas Best" now. I used to buy it all the time but I found a smoke shop that has Stokkers which is my preferred chew and dip.

It's dying off. Once those 80-100 year olds die it'll be all but gone.

The tobacco companies have raised the price of those know brands to as much as 15 bucks a pouch.

It's not taxes causing it either. We have value brands of chew for 2 bucks a pouch.

My guess is they're gouging those old codgers while they still can.

To me chew isn't the same nicotine rush as the dip.

Chew = cigars

Dip = cigarettes

There was a recent rise in people dipping in my area... When those numbers came out the Govs in the south increased the taxes on dip.

Not on chew.

Some chew comes in a can like dip. An example would be Stokers dips. Still 2 bucks a can.

That can of Grizzly cost me almost 7. I carried Stokers around in my back pocket for a while, but it just doesn't satisfy.

Long story short... No sense in buying dip or chew to quit cigarettes if it costs as much. So the numbers trended back down. Price effects popularity.

That information is related to the deep south only... There are places with lower smokeless tobacco prices.

Sells out by the box here.

I read once that a can of Kodiak has more nicotine than a carton of cigarettes.

Kodiak is the good stuff.

There's some process used to make dip that increases the amount of available nicotine.

I've heard you can replicate it by adding baking soda to tobacco.

There's a guy on youtube who was trying to replicate Copenhagen.

Copenhagen is good stuff too I just can't keep it set in my mouth... Too fine. I wind up eating a bunch of it and getting heartburn.

Smokeless tobacco is extremely popular here. And extremely cheap due to the local Indian reservation.
I get tubs of Stokers for $11. That a buck ten a can. The big brands like Copenhagen, Skol, Kodiak....are between $2.35 and $3.15 a can....Kodiak being the most expensive.
You can get Wolf, Cougar, and a few others for .99 cents a can.
Big bags of Stokers chew is $6.00, I believe its 16 ounces. Their whisky chew is great.
Rednecks and Amish go through a ton of dip and chew around here.
I asked around why nobody carried any snus except for Skol and Camel. I was told there was no demand.
A few years ago I spent a lot of time in the hospital myself....like a year :) ...it's a long story. My wife snuck in Camel snus. All the nurses knew, a few doctors knew, but nobody cared. After a few months in the hospital, everyone kinda feels bad. :)

I'm sure we have something like that here.
They have something like that here. And while at work (one of my buildings I clean is part of the hospital), have shared snuff with doctors and while chatting up nurses. Put pinches of dip in while talking with them. The thing is some of them are the kind of people that will write our boss an e-mail if we don't pull the bag of trash that has one single post it note in it.
Also many doctors and nurses have bluntly stated that they would rather patients dip or take snuff if they can do it without making a big mess since it helps them keep calm.
The fun fact is those rules come down from their insurers who love coming up with any excuse to create a new charge. The no smoking rules that comes from the medical and day to day operational side, the no tobacco of any sort usually comes from slime coated serpentine business men who are actually a corrupt form of weasel.
Luckily these nurses and doctors are trying to help us...
Precisely. If they think you're causing a problem they'll say something or enforce a rule. If they think you're not hurting anything they'll happily look the other way.
Not always the case. God is looking out for us.
I've met a few that raise the question of how does an evil bastard whose heart is full of hate live with themselves in a profession that helps people. Like the head of radiology who messed up and cause further injury to a patient and literally said fuck him he's too much of a poor hillbilly to be able to sue me. That was at my last job. Got in some great arguments with that piece of shit.
The main nurse even wedged the back door open for me to step out and smoke... But I doubt she intended for me to upset the whole situation 40 times a day.
She probably does the same thing. Smoking rates are statistically super high among medical professionals including doctors.
In fact our local hospital wouldn't hire tobacco users because of insurance. They gave up the policy for one reason. It made finding people to hire too hard.
What's somebody going to come do? Ask to look inside your mouth?
Certainly but it's somebody whose in protective psyche care.
It is unbelieveable that people would take issue with a person having a dip, but it's also the comming reality.

Side note one thing that pisses me off are that some of our trades guys throw their wads of dip just where ever. Not only is that gross, but it gives an excuse to ban the use of dip. Which is literally the one place anyone has an excuse to tell us not to dip. Also is it really that freaking hard to spit into a trash can instead of hitting the wall?

Mannnnnnn im paying 13.00 a can of Copenhagen. I like stokers, but not nearly as much as Cope.

But when I started dipping, 20 years ago, Grizzly was a buck a can.

The 99 cent stuff we can get is horrifying. Wolf, Cougar and Kayak. The Kayak is tolerable, and does come in a 10 can tub for $8.
But I like Stokers. 100% American tobacco, made 100% in American, by Americans. Bobby Stoker says he will stop making smokeless tobacco if he ever needs to buy foreign tobacco.
Can't fault him for that. The vast majority of tobacco is now grown in Africa and elsewhere. Ive got an uncle and 2 cousins who grow tobacco in NC. They have watched dozens of farms go out of business.
