Currently smoking Newminster superior navy flake in my MM Diplomat. Winning combination. Got this tobacco as a free sample with an order from smokingpipes and just put a couple of oz in my cart. Apparently it's a straight va non-aromatic but it's so naturally sweet I'm having a hard time believing it's not topped. A delicious smoke indeed!

Heh, I actually just put out some Newminster SNF to dry before reading your post, pipeanddrum. I guess now I better throw it in one of my cobs
Also, not to get too far off trac, but I would bet Newminster SNF does have some topping in addition to the sweetness of the VAs. Doesn't bother me any, as it's a great tasting blend, and quite the bargain.

I think my cob is happier from having burned an hour's worth of Newminster snf (1 flake). I know I am. Topping or not, it's a 'superior' flake indeed and you can't beat the price! I'm going to move my Golden Slices over to make some room.
