I'm just sitting here with a cigar in hand, shaking my head and trying to figure out WTF most of you are talking about! I've never heard such a ridiculous conglomeration of attempts at philosophical bullshit diatribe in all my life related to such a simple subject of tobacco. It seems to me that about the only person on this thread who has some semblance of sanity, feet firmly planted in the ground, and a firm grasp of good old 'grass roots' common sense reality is warren.

A 2012 investigation by the Associated Press found that the FDA had received nearly 3,500 of these "substantial equivalence" applications since the law took effect in 2009. The agency was expected to rule on these applications within ninety days of receipt. At the end of 2012 it had issued zero rulings, with many applications lingering for years.

The new FDA deeming rules shift the market power to those who make those mass-produced cigarettes, and penalize pipe and cigar tobacco makers.
