So! How do you dry the tobacco? And how long for?

It’s a personal preference, experimentation is the best way to find out what suits you.

No tobacco of course should be goopy/sticky when you pinch a clump, typically just a wee bit of moisture when squeezed, but it’s fine to also dry it crispy too, again, experiment.

Living in a fairly humid climate in North Carolina, it is usually better to go for dry tobacco than moist. You can probably dry leaf to dust, but it takes a lot more time in these parts. Hereabouts, a little drying helps burn and flavor a lot.
