Today's mail brought 3 pounds of Sutliff 507C Virginia Slices, plus a couple BIC EZ Reach lighters since I had never tried them before and they seemed good for piping.

This is actually the first time I've ever bought more than 2 ounces of any given blend, but 507C is my favorite summertime smoke so I wanted to make sure I had enough for many summers to come.puffy

On a somewhat humorous note, after deciding to stockpile 3 pounds of it since I thought it was going away, it was revealed today by an STG representative that Sutliff 507C Virginia Slices seems to be the only Sutliff blend that at this point is guaranteed to survive the STG acquisition and will continue being produced; since it was already being produced by STG for Sutliff and is in fact just rebranded Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake. At least I won't have to buy more for a good decade or so? 😅

Excited to try these limited run Cornel & Diehl aromatics blended for a local shop.

Oh interesting, I‘ve never heard of this…

Looks like this is the shop it was made for, in honor of Robert Samuel McLaughlin.

P.S. You have to share the good details in the future… ;)

Will do! Yes, that’s the B&M. Sounds like founding fathers, but they mention an apricot note as well. We will see!

That’s why I didn’t bother bolstering the pound or so I’ve got laying around-I figured it’d be safe if anything is.

A little more stocking the cellar, a little more trying new things.

I didn't want to see 507c disappear, so I ordered 2 pounds to stash away for the future. Then, 12 hours later, Sutliff bulk went on sale, but the gentlemen at SP refunded me the amount of the discount. Top-notch service there.

I love the other Semois I've tried (Le Petit Robin and Reserve du Patron), and I wanted to see how La Brumeuse stacks up. Never tried Iwan Ries Three Star Blue, PS 403, PS 24 Nougat, or F&K Lancer Ready Rubbed, so I got some samples to try. It's been quite a spending spree this past month. I regret nothing.
