July has been a wild TAD series of events. After ranting about the poor quality on current Peterson pipes led me into vintage Peterson rabbit hole.

God heavens! What a haul!!

I wasn't aware there were rants about the quality of current Pete production. Several years ago, yes, but after new management, and old stock selling out, new production has been much improved.

Can you guess what the 'T' in TAD stands for? 🤣

Just teasing, nice assortment you've got there!

I've been waiting for the Solani Aged Burley Flake to be available again for months and was able to pounce on two tins this week. Can't just order one thing, so added two tins of Windjammer for good measure. :)

I see the Solani available in the UK but haven't committed. Judging by the reviews, I might have liked the old blend but be less keen on this iteration - is it all African white burley now? Did they add cocoa to compensate for the other darker Brazilian and Kentucky burleys? Or is this all scuttlebutt from below decks?

I have only had this version so can't compare myself. The tin says 'white burley'. @JimInks says it was changed in 2022 and that it is more licorice and less cocoa-flavored, a bit less sweet overall. You can read his full review on TR.

Aged Boring Flake? I still have two flakes left from years ago. Tasted of nothing much when partly moist, and like a mouthful of soil when dried.
Fold and stuff, then huff into the bowl twice to rehydrate, let us know if you have slightly nutty chocolate soil. Or still just soil.

A big big mahalo nui to @PipeIT for being way to generous to me! I got this package in the mail today. A radice pipe, along with numerous tobaccos including two esoterica blends. Thank you so much again, and sharing aloha with your island neighbor @PipeIT

This is what you told your wife, but you can tell us the truth.

(sorry for the dated quote, I'm behind in reading the Thread).

It was their last can of Eight State, I was happy to find it. This and Sun Bear are the only C&D small batch I look for. I had been curious about that two SG blends for a little bit. I'm looking forward to 1792 tonight after dinner. Perfection will have to wait until there's room on my shelf for another aromatic english. And for the life of me I couldn't remember if I had Six Pence or Penny Farthing in my cellar, so I grabbed it just in case. And now I have a couple tins of Six Pence.
