I love 5 Brothers. I order it by the 5 pouch box, and store the sealed pouches in a large Fido glass jar, while I open a pouch at a time and place it in a smaller Mason jar to smoke. Haven't had any issues with it staying fresh. It's too bad STG doesn't make a 7oz tub of it.
I usually mix it but it is great by itself - the nicotine, like OJK, is pretty stout. It also doubles to use on ghosted or soured estates - if you smoke enough 5B, the ghosts will flee

Part of the reason I love it also is the heritage. It's been basically unchanged all these years, and is a throwback to the dual purpose (as in the past was indicated on the packaging) Smoke or Chew, and is basically the only remaining product like this around. I've read some people used to chew it and I have tried it and it wasn't awful. It tastes sort of like a twist or less sweetened Mail Pouch.
They used to make Weymans Cut & Dry, Cutty Pipe and Peerless (owned by American Tobacco along with 5Bros and packaged the same way), as well as Penns Best, but all of these sans 5B have been discontinued. They were all burley shags like 5B. I feel like this probably the main style at the turn of the century, straight burley shag.
I could most certainly survive on 5B but I'd probably smoke a LOT less. I use dip pouches during the day and if I smoke a pipe with straight 5B then have a dip, it's too much

I prefer mixing a small amount to my codger otcs to add punch and nic.
I attached some photos. I have some old unopened 5B in this packaging but haven't opened it.
