Does anyone really read them? I get bored after two paragraphs. Anyone else feel the same?

I would suspect that “too long” of a post is a wholly subjective measure. I have read many, many posts here that are several paragraphs long and have found them enjoyable and informative. And, there are some posts that are perhaps only about three sentences, that after reading them….. it feels best to ignore.

But even some of them, against my better judgement…. I will respond to them. ?

Seriously….. if a post is too long for your liking….. it IS “relatively” easy…. even on the klunkiest of devices to scroll on past. That would be my suggestion on how to best handle your predicament.

What about posts that are made every few hours regarding a blend and pipe that is being smoked. Then, off to work...who smokes that much? Not naming names...
There are several times when I have read posts that have occurred consecutively by the same poster….. often about the same subject….. that I have garnered a great deal knowledge from and have had great interest in reading.

Sometimes, however, a consecutive poster will tend to harp on things of little consequence that scrolling on by would surely be a better option than complaining about. But, when that happens, that is “generally” what I do.

But, sometimes it is a challenge to not let a person know your true feelings…. so I do understand where you are coming from. ?

I don't put that much thought into it. If it's interesting to "me", I read on. If not, I move on.
No one is obliged to read any post. Do what suits you. It shouldn't be an issue.

There are threads I follow, and read through. And others I don't because I don't have an interest in their content.

And I assume that is what the majority of the members here do.

It’s just like any group of people, some folks like to talk more than others. Some folks use more words than others to say the same thing. Some people will be annoyed by the long-winded folks. I think it is just part of an active forum.

As far as the question about whether people read them, it is easy to know the answer. Just see if anyone responded or otherwise interacted on the post. If they did, they probably read it.

@MRW I suppose people could reduce posts down to a few words like 'Wessex Flake. Good. You should try. Smoked in a Falcon". Somehow though you might miss the context of the poster. The way they express themselves tells you a lot about them. If we were to form judgements based on simply a few words and avatar this forum would become remarkable uninteresting. As to your question regarding Jim. I have actually met the fellow and he does smoke that much. If you are trying to find his home you don't need a Satnav device you just follow the smoke signals! Again everyone has an opinion on something but YMMV.
