I poked through Google and some forum searches..and searched the forum through Google..I couldn't find anything solid, so I will take a direct approach:

Is the Bear coming out of hibernation this year? Cheers!

Technically sun bears don't hibernate but the tobacco usually drops early in August if at all.

If enough buyers requested it to be regular production, they may listen. Any tin order I make will always be 10 tins, as it's pointless to pay a shipping cost equal to one or more tins. Even the fastest selling limited releases are in stock for thirty minutes or more on multiple sites.

The tins I bought in 2019 were enough for me. I don't think I've opened a second one yet.

I really like mkI, and mkIII was good.
I've yet to try the mkII (Black Locust?).
Need to pick up at least one of those so I can be a completist.

They have always made quite a lot, you don't have to stay up until midnight to get some.

Who knows what this year's blend will even be, I feel like of all the recent "limited run" series, Sun Bear has varied the most year to year.

No perique, but they've been virginia-based blends with some kind of honey theme. I think one year they had a lot of orientals in it.

Thankfully no, they're Virginia/Orientals.

Yeah, this is one special release that I can easily walk by. Just a classic case of a tobacconist saying some is rare and charging a very high price for. It may be very nice but nothing you couldn't get in another tin at a regular price.

The 2022 Sun Bear was $12.11 per tin at SP, so $.20 - $.50 more than regular production C&D tins. That’s not exactly “…a very high price…” in relative terms.

I asked Jeremy about 8 State Burley this year at the muletown pipe show (not releasing this year). But if I recall correctly, Jeremy mentioned that a sun bear would release this year.
