That's because there are some REALLY BAD Aromatics out there and they seem to get a lot of press.

There are some really good ones out there and a lot of them mentioned above (however, there are also some mentioned above that don't classify as aromatics).

Here a few that I didn't see mentioned that are worth mentioning:
  • Watch City Deluxe Crumb cut - Do I smell Cookie dough? well definitely molasses
  • KBV Burley (Burlier, if you like it a little stronger) morning Pipe - Great with black coffee
  • Country Squire Parson's Blend - Like sitting down by a fire with a classic novel
  • Watch City Stubb's Pipe - An edgy burley with a Rum topping on this one
  • L.J. Peretti Thanksgiving Day (released on November 1st every year and sells out quickly but WORTH marking your calendar for) - So good I buy enough to keep in rotation for those times you just gotta a bowl...
I just read the description for L.J. Peretti Thanksgiving Day. I just put a reminder on my phone.

I am a beginner, so there are many folks on here who have sampled WAY more aromatics than I have. That said, I did start with them, and frankly, I do prefer them. My top 5 in reverse chron:

5) Peterson Connoisseur's Choice
4) Drew Estate Grand Central
3) Drew Estate Central Park Stroll
2) CAO Eileen's Dream
1) CAO Moontrance

Pleasantly, one, two and five are still in production. I also found MacBaren's selection to be quite pleasant. The first tobacco I ever smoked was Original Choice, I liked Vanilla Cream a lot (although a bit wet), and I have a tin of 7 Seas Black Blend that I have yet to crack open and try. I do hear good things about the entire 7 Seas line, though.

Conversely, here are my three least favorite aros, FWIW:

1) Vauen Auenland Evening Mixture
2) CAO Cherrybomb
3) Peterson Nutty Cut

Just my two cents on the topic. Lots of aro blends to choose from, more than you can even hope to sample (although the Tobacco Police sure are trying their damndest to reduce the quantity).

BROBS has worn me down that Granger is an Aromatic.

So..... ☝️?

Try Edward G Robinson. It’s good “middle ground”

As opposed to say, Lane Black Raspberry which would be a room filling Aromatic.
I've had Lane Black Raspberry in my cart at least a half dozen times. I guess it will need to find it's way to my cabinet.

That straus Sleepy Hollow sounds like me. If I was a female, I would be the classic all American yoga wearing pumpkin spice girl. I love everything pumpkin.

It seems to be a local brand though ?

The best aromatics I've had are Mac Baren's Scottish Blend and Amphora Full Aroma.
The former is a blend of many tobacco varieties, toasted and cased and comes off complex and sweet. It does not have a distinct top flavor that I can discern, but leans towards honey or molasses plus the many tobaccos, burley, cavendish and kentucky being the most prominent.
Amphora Full is mostly a burley blend with top notes of some kind of berries and chocolate, mildly applied.
Amphora sounds very intriguing. I'll have to try it at some point.

I was speaking from empirical knowledge. I didn’t care for either EGR or the Raspberry but see how they can appeal to many.

I smoked one half bowl of the Raspberry in my car and gave it to an aro smoking friend. The following morning, my car reeked of stale cigarette and raspberry and it hung around for days.

When I come back to the car after granger, almost detect nothing at all. Airs away very quickly and smells pipey until it does.

Oh. I’m smiling when I say this, “EGR reminds me of marshmallows” ?

Haha, it reminds me of a classic American neighborhood during Fall.

They ship. Call them and ask if they have any left in stock. Usually only released around October, but I heard last summer they made an exception because they knew so many people were at home smoking.

Bagpiper’s Dream and Golden Days of Yore. Although both of these being my favorites, they go better during the Christmas Season.
