Just got back from a meeting. My factory is going to take the opportunity to build up our inventory in the warehouse over the next few weeks while the auto makers are shut down, of coarse this all goes out the window if the state shuts down
Anddddd they just did..

Let’s put this into perspective. 4,000 people in Italy have died from Kung Flu, but there are over 60 million people in Italy. Is this pandemic worrisome? Yes. Is the sky falling? Not yet. Smoke your Penzance. Isolate when you can. Trust in God. Enjoy time with family and friends. I promise you, 100 years from now, we’re not going to be arguing about who died first!
I agree about the numbers but I don't believe we are being told how serious this is. They wouldn't close all the schools and all these industries if this was a regular flue.
There is something here that is making the politicians shit their pants. I believe this is some type of germ war fare that got out.

This is what this pipe hobby was designed to address. Meantime, there are all the details of securing the items you don't have and visiting with the people you can't see in person. It makes me think of running a typhoon evasion on a minesweeper. Tighten the bolts, lash the chair to the teletype, and tape the drawers closed, and try to keep track of which way is up. You can catch up with the stress tomorrow. Best luck and good health to all.

Since all the bars are closed, all the live music gigs have been cancelled. I've been practicing, reworking arrangements of songs, and trying out a list of new ones to add to the set list. I'm using the respite as a kind of sabbatical to tighten up the chops.

I've also been taking extra time with spring house maintenance, yard work and the like. Still working full time, but we'll see when they shut us down like everyone else...

Praying & Faith! Been through times like this before... 9-11, Housing fall, Being stupld enough to sign a Non-Compete Agreement. All were disastrous for my employment and finances. Good thing is that money is a renewable resource. Unfortunately, health may not e so. Kind of tired of starting at the bottom - prefer not to do it all over again. Best wishes and prayers for all to be safe.
I still like the idea of having good drink and pipeweed reserves! AAAHH yes...have to get the smoker set and do some butts!

No stress here, in situations like that I am cold realist, do the numbers and consider the possibilities. It's not the flu though and outside of Asia we're not even at the beginning of the peak.

I'm grateful that my work can be done from anywhere, and my employer is not facing any issues yet. Also that my immediate family, although it has some vulnerable people, are all taking proper care of themselves and isolating strictly.

Wife has been bringing home huge boxes of paperwork from her business the past few weeks. Old tax documents etc. We started burning them today just for something to do. We have 1 neighbor close enough to see into our backyard...wonder what they thought of us out there with 12 large boxes of shit being hastily incinerated lol.

Kind of wish we had tinfoil hats on at the time...
