It's stressful here, but we will manage. I've been off work due to a back injury since August of last year, and won't be back atleast till the end of April. My wife stays home anyways, and we have talked about homeschooling our 7 year old for years now. So this will be a good idea of how it would work.

So really nothing much has changed. We started stocking up on food and supplies months ago, so again we are good there.

Meditation in the morning, try to do what I can at work. I’m ina family business, sales of print and promotional products. Our clients are closed or on red alert, so there’s just not much to be done. We’ll weather the storm. I’m just trying to stay positive.

Ride my bike, play with my puppies, yell at my teenagers?, you know the usual stuff. Wife and I enjoy good a series on tv, so at least we’re not glued to the news.

Lastly, remind myself to retry to put things into perspective and not freak out. This too shall pass.

I'm not stressing out over this. I'm working from home, which I did for many years before taking in-house positions. I had my own little freelance business for many years. So working from home isn't a big shock. Plus, Warners has completely equipped me to do the work. Once this production has run its course in a couple of months, I may feel differently. But for now, I've got lots of interesting stuff to do, and I can pay the bills. It is challenging to provide art direction remotely, but I've done that before, and tech has advanced a great deal in the last decade.

The only stress I've felt is concern over the situation worsening to the point of mass hysteria and chaos and how that might put my children and grandchildren at risk. Other than that, I don't see much value in having anxiety over something I have little control over. I don't have to look far at all to find someone who has it much, much worse.

@sablebrush52 what about food and supplies etc? How are things faring in the City of Angels?
Well, like a lot of other places, people panicked and wiped out stores last week. It was pretty surreal. But stores have stocked up (except for toilet paper and paper towels - what is with that. People are irrational,).

People are just going about their business. To stop the crazies, most stores are imposing limits on how much of something you can buy, so that everyone can get what they need. One supermarket chain, Vons, has a policy of opening up the store first thing, just for seniors and people with underlying conditions, for two hours before opening to the general public. Other markets may be doing that, but I'm not aware of it.

The state has been put on a general lockdown, no leaving home unless it's to buy groceries, pick up prescriptions, or take care of essential business. The details haven't been published, so I don't know what constitutes essential business other than being a care provider or police, fire, rescue, that sort of thing, but pretty much everyone is supposed to stay home for now.

The intent is to avoid something developing like the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, which some epidemiologists are saying is a possibility.

The Chinese have a saying, "May you live to see interesting times." It's a curse. We're definitely seeing interesting times.

I’m more stressed from being cooped up for 3 days now. Planning on driving in to the office tomorrow to do some work. 99% of what I do is dealing with government which has now effectively shuttered, so I’m just focusing on getting everything caught up, files closed etc so that when we do get back to normal I’m ahead of the game for a change.

I've always found explorations of the natural world to be stress reducing. Here in the Northern Hemisphere spring has just started which is a particularly interesting time of year. Going out on solo walks through field and wood is still responsible social distancing. Just sitting next to a stream and listening to the water can be wonderfully relaxing. Birding is interesting now with new migratory species arriving and the botanical world is worth exploring with wild flowers blooming. Same with insects (butterflies) and amphibians. Or just a leisurely saunter admiring all the beauty that this world has on offer. My advice is to find a nice natural area to walk.

Nothing lasts. That fact is both sad and comforting.

A state of emergency has been declared in Ontario. There has been numerous calls to stay home unless you have to go out, but there are still businesses open that don't need to be and people acting like it is no big thing. That's unfortunate but part of the human condition I guess.

It is challenging with kids though, as the city has closed parks down, plus its raining so they can't play outside. I guess the biggest stress is keeping them occupied and entertained. This is still March Break, but we are trying to come up with lessons, or some sort of routine for them.

One idea that was going around on Twitter was a neighbourhood scavenger hunt, where people put pictures in the windows and you walk your neighbourhood and see how many you can find. That kept the kids busy drawing yesterday, but everyday is a new challenge.

I am responsible for 15 employees and my companies world has been turned upside down.

Breathe and work your ass off to hold on.

Be satisfied with knowing that you are doing everything you can.
Just got back from a meeting. My factory is going to take the opportunity to build up our inventory in the warehouse over the next few weeks while the auto makers are shut down, of coarse this all goes out the window if the state shuts down

Aren't there areas of wilderness close by. Heck, now that the car got fixed I'm wanting to head out of town and park by some forgotten rural backroad or ruins and have a bowl. Can't see how you can catch anything there, unless a tick bites you for days.

My stress is from having 4 kids out there in the world. My kids are being very careful but you never know. My youngest son can do his job from home but they are being dicks making people come in. He told the company he had to take care of his sick father so he had to work from home, it was good thinking. He is in the top 3 in sales so he can get away with a good amount
My oldest daughter who is in law
school can do it on line. My youngest daughter who graduates from, h.s soon is home as her school closed. I forbid her to leave the house and threatened to sue her mother if she let her out.
My oldest son is in Oakland and is being very careful to stay away from everyone but his girl.

I don't worry about myself as my pipe smoke will kill anything and I plan on smoking as long as I am awake.

Feeling gratitude to Gd that so far at least my family and friends are healthy and safe. Our community is really pulling together. Exercising, working from home, reading, and having a gin and tonic every day. Would really love to smoke a few bowls a day but trying to keep it to one or two a week. Oh yeah, and cleaning my guns.

Let’s put this into perspective. 4,000 people in Italy have died from Kung Flu, but there are over 60 million people in Italy. Is this pandemic worrisome? Yes. Is the sky falling? Not yet. Smoke your Penzance. Isolate when you can. Trust in God. Enjoy time with family and friends. I promise you, 100 years from now, we’re not going to be arguing about who died first!
