It's sad................. It doesn't affect me much, as I'm pretty much a hermit these days, but Jay, you're right.
My eldest daughter wanted to be a nurse in the delivery department at a hospital since she was a little girl. She studied hard, graduated at the top of her class as a registered nurse, landed her dream job, working with newborns at the hospital.
It makes me so sad talking to her now, about how F'in CRAZY it is nowadays.............. She's a bit dis-illusioned about it all:
- She can't say to the parents "You have a wonderful baby Boy/Girl!" upon delivery..... That's grounds for immediate dismissal............ Sad! A LOT of the parents want to let the kid "decide" what gender they are as they grow up!
-She had to take a class on, and has to help male 'MOMS" in the act of "chestfeeding"....... google it. Men take hormones from China or wherever to produce milk and want to feed the newborns.
One man had a baby that wouldn't nurse, and my daughter had to shave the (thick) hair from around this dudes nipples, in an effort to get "nourishment" to the newborn!
-"Throuples" are a thing now- 3 people in the relationship- can't call one Mom or Dad....... again, a firable offence........
I really feel bad for my daughter, it seems her lifelong dream she has worked so hard to achieve has been somewhat shattered, and she's disappointed and feels let down by all the nuttiness in this world nowadays. She feels like she's walking on pins and needles through-out her 12 hour shift, wondering if she'll slip up and get fired.
Yes, the world is going to Hell in this regard........... just my 2 cents.
I'll add that I don't give a flying F what an adult wants to do as an adult, but applying it to newborns in a hospital is just wrong in my book, and I've seen my daughter's dream shattered because of it..............
