Maybe Kopp will buy some of the brands? Then we'll get Amphora, cased with liquorice, Three Nuns cased with liquorice, St Bruno cased with.... etc.
Imperial Brands may take Amphora & Bruno back to their portofolio and if so, the quality of those blends sure will deteriorate with this switchMaybe Kopp will buy some of the brands? Then we'll get Amphora, cased with liquorice, Three Nuns cased with liquorice, St Bruno cased with.... etc.
This does not bode well for independent blenders that use Sutliff bulk as components.
Not sure what your point is here, maybe you can clarify? The pipe tobacco market is shrinking because of greatly reduced retail market demand. The pot business is booming because people want to get stoned. Neither one is healthy, but the demise of Mac Baren et al doesn't have that much to do with the government. I haven't heard of anyone quitting pipe smoking because of taxes or regulations. Not that I'm a fan of either. In the meantime, cannabis has gone from illegal/prohibited to a third of a trillion dollar market. (projected to be half a trillion by 2030)
Because society's rule makers are only interested in people's health, of course, not money.
Thanks for the tip. Just ordered five pounds of Sweet Virginia. This sucks.Tobaccopipes.com has a 20% off Sutliff bulk sale going on right now. Discount code SAVENOW.
Just to be safe I ordered 10 pound of Mocha Strips.
It’s weird that cannabis is being brought up in this conversation tbh. I understand that some folks don’t like the plant but this ain’t the forum to piss and moan about its legalization. Not sure what your point is here, maybe you can clarify? Here's the problem with that: C&D uses an overall relatively small amount of tobacco, but many varieties. Those varieties often need a unique terior, such as Orientals doing best in the Mediterranean. And the tobaccos that they use are often not the entire plant, but just a portion of the stem positions. So, it's pretty much impossible for them to economically grow the variety and quality of tobacco that they need on a small scale. They would need multiple farms, in multiple countries, all growing small amounts of tobacco. This doesn't even take into consideration the vagaries of farming such as bad years due to drought, insects etc., while figuratively having all their eggs in one basket. And they'd have to get into the processing business as well, none of which is affordable on a small scale. If it was feasible, I'm pretty sure it would have been done by STG already.I thought at one point when I got back into pipes C&D grew tobacco.
I wonder if things are harder for them to source in the future they might start growing, South Carolina is suppose to be a good environment for tobacco… hmm

Do they use mostly STG bases? I don't know much about C&D.I thought at one point when I got back into pipes C&D grew tobacco.
