Good day Ladies and Gentlemen. A quick question for you. So, I just bought my first Meerschaum pipe and I admittedly know very little about them. The brand is SRV. Anyone have any experience with or knowledge regarding this brand? It has the name "Emir" carved into it. Thanks for any info!

Nice pipe. I don't know carver Emir, but this is a simplified version of a floral style originally made by Sevket Gezer and now made mostly by Tekin.

I just bought 1 and now have some concerns about handling it. From what I read they say do not handle the bowl for at least 10 bowls which is ok. Then the cleaning aspect, clean when cool which is normal but I smoke bowl after bowl when at home, so I want to just keep reloading and clean in the mornings. Then there was some info on which tobaccos. Need some advice on this please.

Daily or between bowls cleaning need not be more than a pipe cleaner down the stem and wiping out the chamber with a paper towel.

Of course you can use a pipe cleaner mid-bowl if you’re getting a lot of condensation.

I’m considering an SRV meerschaum at the moment…
If you are looking at SRV pipes at Meerschaum Market be aware that they have both an eBay store as well as a conventional website. The conventional website is usually cheaper than their eBay store and I haven't been able to get an offer accepted that was better than the price on the conventional website. Every pipe is numbered, so it's easy to compare.

Example, I bid $140 for a pipe that was listed at $190 on their eBay store and $160 on their website. They countered with $180. I countered with $150 and I commented that the pipe was $160 on their website, and they countered with $180 again!

Probably because ebay takes fees from sales, ebay helps reach a larger audience but also takes a cut, they can offer cheaper on their website because there is no one taking a % of their sale.

Just order from the site.

So did you do the smart thing and pay 160 on their website? lol

LOL! I ordered a different pipe from a different company. I was just kind of put off by their tone.
For what it's worth at least from what i have seen usually when i put offers in on pipes for sale by companies / shops, the first offer back is always $10 off the listed price no matter what. It would be that was just the lowest offer they would accept because of ebay fees.

For the pipe I ended up with, I bid $140 on a $180 pipe and they took it first shot. Made me ticked that I didn't go lower, LOL! Beautiful Meer too.
