But he said, once they get close, quit calling because they will zero in and dive bomb. They are fighting off rivals on their territory. The talons sort of lock when closed, to hold captured prey, so you really don't want that.

Yes, some birds have amazing maneuverability; watch them take off and land in a strong wind. Air is their medium.

I saw one nab a squirrel once while I was deer hunting. That was impressive. Poor squirrel never saw it coming.

I watched a hawk take down a pidgeon in flight one day, then proceed to chow down. An impressive sight to say the least.

A few colleagues of mine were discussing their spirit animals yesterday. I was unfamiliar with the concept and still am uncertain if I understand. If someone could could explain it better, that would be great, or if you have a spirit animal (bear, badger, penguin etc.) how did you choose it or do you think you were just born with it?

I had to look that up. Not sure what it's characteristics are that make it a good spirit plant.

One of our politicians' spirit plant is the potato, but he's taking people to court over defamation... ?

I once saw a squirrel a mother squirrel punch a crow. It was one of the funniest things I've seen. She was vicious. Also saw a hawk grab a rabbit that was sitting behind this girl. The girl turned around and looked confused. It was so quick.
