Interesting observation. That's probably why another member mentioned the sudden explosion in numbers of pipes for sale on eBay...

I don’t know about SP but a nice meerschaum maker I recently bought from has all the pipes from his website on eBay too. But you get free shipping from the website.

Except that we're not. Not that there's anything wrong with selling on ebay, but we don't. We bought that pipe back in October; I don't see how it could have been (in a literal sense) the same pipe as the one you saw on ebay.
