Thank you for that. I made peace with family history years ago and don't mind the idea of it. At max it would be 56 years and that's more than enough for me.Sincere best wishes.

He's even a fellow member of the glass eye club.Guess this sums up the situation....
There's only a handful of folks here with my real name and address, not the pseudonyms and P.O. Boxes I use for ordering. I think I may know who did it I'm just waiting for the guilty party to chime in.![]()
I only just recently got introduced to this banger of a movie by my dad about 5 years ago. I liked it so much, I ended up stealing his DVD!Guess this sums up the situation....
You're obviously still consuming tobacco by other means. Why do you think you lost interest in pipes?I had a few of them even a couple of hollow ones. I never really liked smooth pipes and preferred sandblasted briar and teardrop lattice meerschaums. I haven't smoked a pipe since March and really feel no inclination to do so. I've got a feeling that my daughter is going to work some magic using them in her art.
Mostly saturation aversion through online participation, pipes require very little thought when using them, and friendlier more like minded folks in the RYO crowd. You're obviously still consuming tobacco by other means. Why do you think you lost interest in pipes?
One thing pipe smokers love to do is overthink what they are doing. I guess by making it difficult it makes us feel we are doing something extremely special. Pipe smoking is a nice past time, but it isn't rocket science.pipes require very little thought when using them,

Exactly and that started bugging me some time ago. You can pack them and light them and give them no more attention until you're finished.Pipe smoking is a nice past time, but it isn't rocket science.
You have the perspective that many of us sorely lack.Thank you for that. I made peace with family history years ago and don't mind the idea of it. At max it would be 56 years and that's more than enough for me.
Shocking.Does not compute.
Well, I can say I am glad you are still sticking around here whether you are smoking pipes or not. I typically have always enjoyed your posts very much.Shocking.
Had you read the entire post it would've made sense. I stay because excluding yourself and a few others, I count many here as friends and I like to help the new guys. As I mentioned in another thread, don't like the content no need to comment. Trolling brings no value to the conversation.
Considering the millions of people in the western world that have shifted from tailor-made cigarettes to RYO due to taxes, I’m sure the RYO crowd is larger than the pipe-smoking crowd by an order of magnitude. But I have to ask…. there is a RYO crowd???

Probably just because of numbers overall, but there’s plenty of people who don’t RYO because they don’t want the hassle, cost be damned. My younger brother dabbles in RYO, but mostly just wants to open a pack and smoke. He won’t even touch pipes or cigars because it’s too much of a commitment.Considering the millions of people in the western world that have shifted from tailor-made cigarettes to RYO due to taxes, I’m sure the RYO crowd is larger than the pipe-smoking crowd by an order of magnitude.
