Surprise,? you don't like lakelands ???So I had my first smoke of some Gawith Hogarth & Co Kendal Flake. I enjoyed it but now I see what people are talking about when they bring up the soapy smell. Is it a topping that causes this smell?
i like the tonka flavor a lot more than any vanilla blend I have triedTonka beans are another lakeland fragrance. It is very similar to vanilla, and it is used as a vanilla substitute in perfumes. Ummmm, why not use vanilla?
Not just in the flavor/aroma. Some blends actually impart a filmy feel to my mouth and tongue like soap.A good point. The floral quality must be what brings the idea of soap into play.
No no, I "enjoyed" it. Thinking of buying in bulk soonSurprise,? you don't like lakelands ???
I can handle tonka better than the rose geranium. Tonka also imparts a nuttiness. But, even so, while smoking it, I am always little perplexed. It doesn’t have any sort of complimentary or tobacvoey flavor. It kind of sets off as it’s own thing when smoking it. Whereas, I can taste cherry, apricot, and even vanilla like flavors in straight tobaccos, even in mynown homegrown that I am 100% sure there are no outside casings. So, those make more sense to me. Those flavors can at a certain casing level, enhance the tobacco flavors.i like the tonka flavor a lot more than any vanilla blend I have tried
Yes, many of us love that soapy goodness. We even dedicate a pipe or three to exclusively smoking those blends.
But now you're keeping them on as long as possible. And when you joke about this do you have a putty knife in hand? Or did I not understand what you're saying??Haha, I'm not a grandpa yet, though I do like to joke to my kids about having someday to change my diapers.
That would be the kids having to change my diapers. Looks like it was a bad joke. But now you're keeping them on as long as possible. And when you joke about this do you have a putty knife in hand? Or did I not understand what you're saying??
Very nicely put, first time I had 1792 I thought this is going straight to my top 5, and hasn't lost its spot still!Tonka pairs exceptionally well with the leaf used in 1792, I think it’s one of the best examples of a how a topping can compliment the tobacco, I just don’t think vanilla would do it justice, there’s something mysterious about the Tonquin Bean. A lot of folks think it overwhelms, I believe some are sensitive to it, tastes very mild in 1792 to me and I’m aware that a lot of people will disagree with me.
Soap for some, but to me this beautiful smell reminds me of Turkish delight! There is a reason that it tastes like soap. It is the exact same fragrance that is used in the perfume industry, rose geranium.
