UPDATE: I contacted the seller. He accused me of bleaching it and said he won't take the pipe back. I contacted Ebay they're going to talk to the seller first.
Unreal!
Why on earth would a pipe smoker put bleach in their pipe. I'm pretty sure we all know better.
I sure hope your able to recover your money.

Thank you. Im guessing he's not a pipe smoker and tried to clean it to make it look nice. He has a lot of random vintage type stuff hes selling on his Ebay page. My daughter told me the inside of the box was wet and i was so excited to get the pipe I didn't even listen to her.

I only wish this were true. You'll eventually find that even this is not unlikely if you stick around here long enough.
2014 not long enough? lol admittedly, I did take some time off, but seriously? An established pipe smoker put bleach in their pipe?
I've always been under the impression that pipes are what separate civilized people from everyone else puffy

I wouldn't call him an established pipe smoker. He had a pipe and sold it on Ebay. He also was selling other random stuff.

No, I'm saying you're an established pipe smoker. Why would you put bleach in your pipe. His accusation makes no logical sense is what I was getting at.

Sorry to hear you got the shaft. I remember your other thread from a few days ago. You were stoked to get your hands on this pipe. I truly hope the idiot didn’t clean it with bleach.

So you must have missed the thread suggesting fresh garlic as a way to get rid of ghosts...I wish I was joking.

Man that sucks. If it helps, there’s a guy I just got a pipe from on eBay (I know, I know, too soon) that restores pipes. Looking at his stuff, he does nice work. JMSportsPipes give his stuff a look & maybe try contacting him. It might be salvaged or if eBay refunds you, you’ll at least have someone you can spend it on. At the very least he’d probably know if it can be salvaged.

The only thing I can think after you done all these things is to smoke the pipe with Virginia or VaPer. That moght get it out but it will take a while. If you can stand them, you could try some tobacco that has Lakeland in it.

If you're not hard pressed to get your money back, and said investment isn't going to cause your family to lose the house... then might I suggest cutting the pipe in half? I used to smash them with a hammer or my boot, but lately I've been exploring cutting them in half to see how deeply the tars go into the wood. We need larger sample sizes... for science and reliability. If so, I can suggest the best way to accomplish this. You have to fine sand the halves to see the delicate lines where the tars seep in. puffy

Well I contacted Ebay and they refunded. I even got to keep the pipe. I know the seller contacted Ebay about me being difficult maybe he was as rude to them as he was to me and they got mad I dont know. Today Im trying coffee in it because the salt didn't work. I hate to cut the pipe as its extremely old and I don't want to destroy history, even though the pipe was cheap.

It has always been a dream of mine to become so filthy rich that I can buy a historical work of art, like the Mon Lisa, and just toss it on a bon fire. puffy
