But 50,000 people die every year in pools.. so man look, call me an asshole, Throw big numbers out there.
People who die in pools, or get into car accidents are examples quoted by other people who don't understand a fundamental difference. Pool deaths and car accidents and other intellectually specious arguments don't take into account one salient fact.

A car accident isn't contagious. A pool death isn't contagious. And make no mistake, this virus is very contagious. These quotations are for the stupid.

To you there is no excuse for these job losses. Fine. We disagree. Show me how much productivity there is with a dead or sick worker.

And before you try to hit me with the "herd immunity" argument, do some reading up on what is being found out about the build up of antibodies from the Novel Coronavirus. There is no sound evidence yet found for immunity from exposure.

You are a nutrient source for a virus.

So go out there and make it easier for the virus to spread. Go out there and infect others so that they can make it easier for the virus to spread. Because, in your mind, there is no sound reason not to.

I admire your knowledge of old british pipes, your collection is beautiful. It's ok for people to disagree. I will continue to "go out there" as I have to support my family. I just hope the days of hugging your friends and other forms of being human will bounce back, right with the jobs. People do need to work, kids do need school, I personally apprciated the world we had before. I hope the big numbers and the media's panic will ease off soon.. or I'm afriad my friend, we may not enjoy the kind of life we did a few months ago.

Yes, I have been a nutrient source for many other bugs in my life as well. My immune system isn't just there for looks. The world is full of bugs, and its a damn miracle that we defend against them as well as we do.

I hope for all of those things was well. But what I'm not seeing is an all out effort to make the workplace safer for workers by reconfiguring workspace, providing masks and respirators, gloves, and other means of providing a way to work and minimize risk while making it more difficult for the virus to find a host.
Manufacturers should be turning their production capacity to building an arsenal of PPE, not SUVs, perfumes, and non-essential consumer goods.
Warner Bros sent us home with the tools we need to continue to work and produce entertainment for people. They are not reopening their animation facility any time soon, maybe not until next year. They've figured out how to adapt.
Other businesses can't do what Warners did in the way that Warners did it, but if their management is competent, they can figure out how to adapt so that people can work and be safe. They can spend some of their profits on equipping their workers.
It's not black and white.

I do not know a single person who has become sick, much less died.

I personally know at least a dozen people who have lost everything they have worked for their entire lives. EVERYTHING gone. Their company, retirement and savings wiped out.

We will be at close to 30% unemployment (twice the Greta Depression) and a 50 TRILLION dollar deficit.

If your worried or have other medical issues, please feel free to stay home. But for the rest of us, let us get back to working, eating out, drinking and enjoying life.

It's not a black and white issue, I agree some precautions are necessary. Its a real thing. I just hope people don't get so caught up in the pandemonium that they forget about the future, the normal way of life we've all worked so hard to obtain.

The virus mutated sometimes in February, becoming more infectious than the original strain and with the possibility to reinfect someone who thought they were well. Many, many people have gotten sick and died. Those areas that have reopened for business as usual have seen the numbers of the sick and dead resurge.

This is the reality. Given that it is a comfort to know that the hot air pumped into forums such as this goes nowhere, is read by few, grows stale and dies, exiled to a server
