I’ve used it a few times. It works great. It’s tricky to get the laser focused to the right depth depending on the size of the object but I think it will get easier with practice. I will post up pics of the pipe I did soon.

Years ago I owned a Trotec Speedy 300 and did a lot of engravings on hard wood. What works best to get rid of the residues caused by the smoke and heat is rubbing alcohol.

I would think the laser would couple best on a clean wood surface. Any wax or residue it has to burn through could potentially leave behind a small amount of carbon.
