Now that some actual product is available in the US I guess I'll have to write a review. Should have been suspicious when that post appeared.

The site appears to be suffering a significant impact from the piranha geezer onslaught. Nothing in this universe is more fearsome than a mob of piranha geezers, their walkers and oxygen tanks completely weaponized, storming the gates.

Interesting thing how perception towards an object changes and the idea of scarcity gets people anxious. I consider the GH tobacco to be of high quality and remember how it was almost always available a few years back. Many pipe smokers on forums were airing puritanical opinions about the offerings. Smells like ‘Grandma…’ stuff was a popular slogan. Yet, these days, the online vendors sell out in a matter of minutes.
Funny group, the pipe smokers

I still think some of them smell like granny panties and won't smoke those. And, I still think their aromatics aren't really that different from US goopies.
I attribute the sell outs to newbies breaking their legs to jumble over each other to get something rare. It just makes one look so... neophyte.

that and if you like them especially as a regular thing you have to get it when it's available. That probably more compounds the issue. But it does seem that many pipe smokers used to play Pokemon and think that they have to catch them all.

When there are a lot of choices people get picky. When there aren't many choices people get grateful or resentful, depending on how entitled they view themselves to be.

These days people are happy with an opportunity to purchase something on the rare occasion that it shows up, rather than with complaining about lakeland "soap".

I don't like lakelands, except on rare occasion, so much of the G&H catalog is safe from me, but I do like some of their unscented offerings and so, took advantage to pick up some small amounts just to fill in some long standing vacancies.

Good grief are there really so many people rushing to get Ennerdale?
I managed to get an order in this morning but wow I can't even connect to the site now.

1 Scalpers have figured this out: you can cellar tobacco and wait to sell it in a few years at double triple etc the price.

2 Plus actual fans of the tobacco are buying the stuff up in order to avoid those scalpers in the future.

3 Along with protecting themselves should the tobacco disappear.

I purchased a bunch of Ennerdale and I am praying it has some sauce on the stuff since the last lot was a bit bland. I asked @Chasing Embers his opinion on the last batch and he thought the stuff from a few years ago had more sauce to it. Well fingers crossed lets see what this new batch tastes like! Since @weezell and I tend to split orders I shall be interested to see how he faired today. I was sorry to see no Broken Flake #7 as that is always a nice smoke.
