I have 18 reviews so far and i still haven't received the critics badge either.
That's when someone is moving from one house to another and they have a shit ton of tobacco they are selling off so they don't have to move it all and you say things like "oh Wessex Gold Slice, how many of those do you have? 19 tins, ok I'll just take them all" and you do that over and over and over and over. For the record what was well over a year ago and i still haven't opened one of those tins to try it. LOL
My credit card didn't think so. haha I'm still discovering things I bought.
I have finally ascended. Thought the discount would be bigger. Oh well, at least its back to what silver was.

The I were more fun if you bought a pipe and got an extra % off on that brand. But overall only useful brand hi get discount on is peterson 5%. Sure I get 15% on dunhill but it doesn't apply to estates and it doesn't help that much when the pipes start at 600$

How long did it take? Ive heard its a threshold to spend lifetime with them? you dont have to go into specifics. do you smoke a ton, just buy a of pipes? stockpile tobacco. nice!
Ive only been a client for a few years but have spent a decent amount. Its kind of ambiguous and they're aren't clear metrics for it. But i do have a gold badge in most of the categories that i buy in so im sure that helped.
It doesn't help the badge for pipes decreases if you don't buy pipes for awhile
Yeah I've been a customer for going on a decade now and even after dropping a not insignificant % of my annual gross income with them over the last 12 months or so with the Sutliff situation I'm still at silver.. hich I was already beforehand.
Kinda made me feel like I don't even really care about it at this point if after all that it still didn't even make a dent... I doubt I will ever spend that much on there in a single year in my life again anyway.
I like SP a great deal and have been a customer for more than 10 years. Always thought that the badge thing was kind of dumb and, as a result, don't pay attention to it. I've been a silver member for a number of years. Mostly it is just a small acknowledgement by the vendor of their customer's loyalty. It really never had too big a bang for the buck and any that was there has been substantially diluted by recent business policy changes.
Tarriffs ate them up a bit which is why the discounts dropped. Would have been nice to get an email explaining it when they dropped the Silver discount down.
