Ouch! It would hurt a lot!

For this type of water flushing I do not recommend tap water at its hottest.

I hate to ask such a morbid question, but do alcohol and/or sedatives generally play a role in these types of deaths? I try to imagine how someone could sleep through a fire in their own bed until it reaches the point that it kills them.

smoke inhalation makes people sleepy. It's pretty beyond easy to sleep through something like that.

I always thought the pain was a part of the experience. I'll definitely be using water instead from now on. Sounds more pleasant.
