I smoke indoors. I detest smoking outdoors, it IMO, changes the flavor of the smoke as well as the smoking characteristics, and not for the better, be it a pipe, cigar or cigarette.
Like Aussielass mentioned, I too quit going to bars and clubs about 6 years ago when the state wide public smoking ban went in to effect here in Colorado. I tried, it just wasn't the same anymore.

Depends on the weather for me. Lately because it's cold here in Canada, I smoke mainly in the kitchen near the exhaust fan going out above the stove, unless I'm on a walk which I always bring my pipe. I sit my chair right by there and relax. I'll also walk around the house when I want. I do enjoy it more outdoors, something about the air and smoke swirling around, but it's way to cold for that right now. I also have a smoke odour candle to take away any stale smoke that may linger for an hour or two.

Single + owning my house = biggest mancave ever? ;)

Out here in the 'Stan I have to smoke in a concrete bunker. It blocks the wind and works well enough. When I get home I plan on purchasing some air purifiers and dedicating a room to smoking.

Romanza10: forgive me if im intruding, but i would have a problem with my spouse smoking indoors but myself having to go outside. Somehow that just seems wrong, a whole lot one sided. Tell her u dont like the smell of cig. smoke so she should smoke outdoors as well. " Quote: Whats good for the goose, is good for the gander"

In my house I smoke.

My house.

I smoke Cigarillos & Pipes and my house is always heavy with smoke - I don't give a rat's patootie, "Don't like it, then stay the hell away!" Come over to visit, and I WILL smoke in MY home in YOUR presence, completely disregarding your coughing & spluttering - put your big girl panties on and deal with it. I will smoke outside if you have bavies, children or feeble old people with you, but that's it. That also goes for you travelling in MY cars ... wind yer bloody window down & stop yer moanin'.
The above pretty much covers my feeling on the subject!

I smoke on the patio since my wife, who never smoked, is opposed to me smoking in the house. I am a Realtor and usually show an average of 30 homes per week. In these homes where there are smokers (all types) you can always tell and it usually turns my Buyers off since the only way to eliminate smoke odor in a house is to prime the walls with Kilz and repaint and shampoo the furniture. That said, smoking a pipe in the house is a personal decision and especially if you are going to live in the home for some time have fun and smoke in your castle.

No, my wife does not smoke nails in the house. We both have to smoke out side. And after talking it over with her, the main reasons are mostly, odor, the condition of the walls, and the health of the pets (we got 4 cats and two dogs). While I hope that one day when we move into a new home (we live in a condominium)I'll have a garage or space enough to build a smoking shack.
Smoking out side is kind of understandable, but I prefer to smoke indoors. Some one mentioned that being outside changes the quality of the smoke and they are right. The wind takes the smoke away to quickly, it can make the bowl burn hot. I want to sit in a comfortable chair and (for lack of a better word) bask in the smoke.
And yeah, I've got a tobacco shop where I can smoke indoors, but it's loud and distracting some times. So maybe in the future one day.

My wife and daughter both have allergies and asthma. I have mild asthma, but since I don't inhale and smoke mild tobacco it doesn't bother me. Because of my wife and daughter, I smoke outdoors. Even in the winter it is not bad. I have a heater, radio, and small table in the garage. It is nice and peaceful. In the Spring and Summer, I have a small refrigerator filled with soda, and the garage door open. The local police have discovered my garage (I have several police friends) and decided it is a great place to take a break and get a free soda. Last summer, one night, I had 12 police cars parked in my large driveway from three different agencies. Really, kind of funny and fun. What's funnier is most don't smoke: they just want to have a quiet break time, and converse.

I lived in Milan for a while. Then went ski-ing for years in Cortina. And spent a lot of time on the other side of the Alps in Saas-Grund. Used to hike across the Monte Rosa pass to Italy. So yep, up there it does get cold. Good memories though.
I always thought you were further south.

Ah.. yep, know where it is..may have passed through but never spent much time there.. nice !
I forgot this as well.. as a smaller kid my parents used to take us on vacation to Limone on Lago di Garda. My younger sister broke her arm there once. I must have been 8 to 12 years old. We went to the same little pension out there. Fond memories. I should take my wife there.. she's never been to Italy.

I have an infant and my wife doesn't like it so I smoke outside in my shed/sort of man cave. I am investing in an extension cord, lamp, and space heater to make it more friendly when its dark and cold. I also live close to a B&M and will be trying to make it at least a weekly trip to go and smoke in their lounge.

I smoke outside in my man space, the patio. I live in Southern Cal, so the weather is usually nice. I can make a mess with the tobacco when filing my pipe, watch the hummingbirds feed, the 4 pair of hawks that live in the neighborhood hunt, and bond with my dog and cat.
