My wife smokes cigs and we both smoke inside the house. Nothing is said until I light up Penzance, and then I may hear some complaining, but only a little or I may just get "that look".

That is as close to having a den as you can be, I consider that inside!

I'm generally outside when my pipe is lit but, on Sunday afternoons when it's just me and a Savinelli, I happily smoke at my desk. Heavenly.

Smoke my pipes by the downstairs fire place with the flue open, have a nice floor pipe stand and comfy chair. Wife likes the smell of blue note and most others, but not too many English blends. I tend to smoke 2-3 pipe fulls a evening.

smoking outdoors is not bad; it makes u feel the sweet longing to smoke as smoking is not available all the times. Personally i tend to prefer to smoke only at certain times of the day like at dawn or sunset; it gives your smoking a special merit. Anyway, there are times when smoking outdoors has its bad side like when its raining or cold or windy. In such cases u could try some pipe tobacco of sweet aroma; my favorite is captain black white it never fails to win complements for its aroma.. Even by nonsmokers

For now I only smoke outside. I live in Vegas though, so it doesn't get too cold this time of year. At most I'll put on my Kenneth Cole P-Coat and cashmere scarf if it actually gets a bit nippy. What I have to battle is the summer heat. Sometimes here in the desert the over night lows in the summer are still an astounding 90+ degrees. Living with my fiance and mother-in-law right now as we're working on rennovating her grandma's house that a renter just moved out of last spring. Lots of work, but I've been told upon completion and moving in I may be allowed to smoke indoors there. Fingers are crossed.

This is a touchy subject for some people. I have kids and of course the wife. Now I get yelled at for 3rd hand smoke. The smoke that sticks to your clothes and skin. I think its just a ploy to get me to quit all together. I smoked nails before i met the wife and she would steal one when we were drinking. but now she asked me to quit smoking the nails...no problem there. Now she wants me to change and shower every time I come in the house so i dont give the 3rd hand smoke to the kids or her. What do I do? The old mosburg is getting itchy.
I always smoke outside...i live in Florida. I dont want the house to smell like an ash tray, and the kids factor, and when my dad comes over (ex pipe smoker).
Oh and to lordofthepiperings- what are you Mr. GQ. -At most I'll put on my Kenneth Cole P-Coat and cashmere scarf if it actually gets a bit nippy
