+1I can’t see a health risk if they’re not breathing in any secondhand smoke. ?
I have a 5 and 10 year old. I smoke my pipe in the evening in our shed/ garage after they are in bed. They are not exposed to any ill health effects.

Or, as an alternative, you might view your wife as your better half, your soul mate, and the one person on earth whose concerns you care about most, and whose maternal instincts are stronger than you can imagine, and who cares about her children more than herself. Like I said, your questions are being asked in the wrong place. Go have a heart to heart with your wife, and seek compromise - as you've obviously already done but do it continually.Based on facts, her concerns aren't valid. However, she's a female so logic and facts don't mean squat. You don't need health advice, you need marital counseling. She's not worried about the children's health because based upon what you described, she's not stupid enough to believe that crap she's handing out. When women say "do it for the children" it really means "do it for me dumb ass". So you best sit down with her and have a heart to heart now or you should look up and record the number for the best divorce attorney in the area immediately.
Thankfully, most pipe smokers are more civilised than to be anything but gentlemanly and sincere to heartfelt questions from fellow pipers in in their infancyI really love how we get so many heartfelt answers to questions that probably shouldn't be asked of this group, and definitely shouldn't expect sincere responses. Come into a cigar bar and ask that bunch this, and you'll get things like...
punch the kids in the face
punch your wife in the face
what do you want kids for?
let me see a picture of your wife... in a bikini... got any of her naked?
The Briary lounge would probably be less aggressive...
someone fucked you?
put the kids in the garage and then smoke in the house
or, someone would just ask a question that is more interesting, and everyone would change subjects
But, really, when you are teaching your kids to smoke, remember that the dangerous part is the lighter. I highly recommend getting them started with a Bic. When you drop a lit Bic, they just go out. So, there is little danger that they'll burn the house down. But, pipes and cigars are too much for a small tike. Get them started on camel unfiltered. But, you'll want to set there with them till they've finished the cigarette. You don't want them to get distracted and waste a bunch of smokes because they saw a rabbit in the yard, and forgot they were smoking. Or, if you don't have time for all of that, buy them some Copenhagen. But, I have never dipped, so maybe someone else can better help with that.
This ?.
Please stop smoking if you're really concerned about this.

Kids+1 on the alone time probably being the problem.
I really don't see how smoke particles on your clothes could be a problem, particularly when you wash yourself and change your clothes as you are saying. Maybe try to find a way for her to have some off time as well and the problem may sort itself out.
Hey...... wait a minute, If I remember correctly weren't you the one who said if you could go back and do it over again you'd put down the pipe and cease smoking altogether and wouldn't recommend young guys to pick up the pipe? Before I changed insurance, I, as a single dad, was like, “don’t get too close to the edge of the porch.” “Don’t climb on that railing.”
Then when I picked up BCBS full coverage, I was all, “what are you thinking? Push the trampoline up next to the house if you are going to jump out of the second story window.”
I thought this was what I recommended???Or

Well, at the time if I remember correctly it was a post regarding health as they typically come up - and I understand it seems strange to bring it up here but with the insurance talk it crossed my mind - especially since the gentleman OP also had another thread regarding his unveiling smoking status to relatives@Sloopjohnbee I’m pretty sure that’s a very oversimplified distortion of what I said. But, I’m not sure how it relates here.
Neither of those thread topics sound interesting to me. It was most likely an “addiction” thread. I tend to post like that a lot on those.Well, at the time if I remember correctly it was a post regarding health as they typically come up - and I understand it seems strange to bring it up here but with the insurance talk it crossed my mind - especially since the gentleman OP also had another thread regarding his unveiling smoking status to relatives
I should say, we have two boys of 2 years old and 4 months old… the latter being the main concern.
