Looked at from the perspective of the anti's, this is logical. The perceived need is to afford maximum protection from second-hand smoke, though it's hard for me to fathom how smoke, in almost all cases, would besmirch another unit in any measurable way. Traveling through vents? In the hallways? I think the ban is an instance of anti's purity of intention, which could also be called the zealousness of true believers.

Grateful Dead lovers & dope smokers are the ones probably coming up with these laws.

But not all old Hippies think that way!!

what has happened to our "rights"? The more the world concentrates on every human being's bill of rights, the more we loose our rights? Does that makes sense???

You got the right to not impact anyone else's rights, that pretty much means, anything even with a .0001% chance of hurting someone is now illegal or will be. Just wait for the law requiring you to blare your horn at every pedestrian in case one of them is blind.

How about the rights of everyone else in the building? They have rights, too.
I'm not saying I like this, but, let's face it, folks, if you were a non-smoker, or asthmatic, or allergic to tobacco, you were outta luck for years. I personally think the pendulum has swung too far the other way, but...

Even things that are IMAGINED to have a .0001% chance of hurting someone else are being made illegal ... not to mention laws against things that could harm no one other than ourselves ... it's looking more and more as if smoking itself could be targeted ... the current landscape is not a pretty picture ...

I hope this is made absolutely and adamantly clear to potential buyers. Too many

strictures and covenants call into question the concept of ownership. If it were a

prohibition on something I did not do, I would want a substantial discount on the

price for the limitation on resale potential. I think people are getting sensitive to

this -- limitations on house guests, age of residents, and on and on. I hope the

restrictions are a constant deal breaker, a red light that this is a community that

expects to be intrusive and overbearing.
