I usually smoke tins down pretty quick. Not as a rule, it's just that when I start a new tin I'm really craving it until it's gone.

In my search to find the best tobacco, I would open a tin, smoke a bowl or two, then jar it up. It took some time to figure out that there is no “best” tobacco. So I have 60 or so blends in jars that I smoke from. I think I’ve only smoked 2 or 3 tins to empty. Penny Farthing, Billy Budd, and Reserve du patron. I do have several bulk blends that I’ve smoked more than 4 ounces of.

I still consider myself in the experimentation phase at one point I had 30 open tins. I thinned the heard down to 20 and it looks like I'll be thinning it down to about 10 consistent blends with 5 wildcards.

It normally takes me 2-3 weeks to finish a 50 gram tin as I smoke around 12 pounds a year. I still keep my open tins in plastic tuppewrare like containers that will keep the tobacco fresh for a couple of years in case I forget about a tin. I hate jars so dumping a perfectly good tin in a jar is something I never do.

I don’t think I’ve ever smoked straight through a tin. Matter of fact I don’t think I’ve ever smoked the same blend more than two bowls in a row.
