I remember sleeping on ground without pad while camping. Even with rocks and roots, I was fine. But that was decades ago. Few nights ago, fell a sleep on my cell phone. Now I feel like someone kicked shit out of my upper chest. One more for getting old.
I know what that's like. My worst sleep was when I slept on a log. Very bad idea.

I hear you. When I was younger I did a LOT of tent camping. Sleeping in a cheap bag on the ground- no problem.
Now, I’m in bed rolling from side to side every 45 minutes because my hips start to hurt. I can’t sleep on my back or stomach, never could unless stone cold drunk!

Thought you were going to go in a different direction -- I was going to talk about the time I fell asleep on a Zoom call. Luckily it was a work call with a dozen or so participants and my camera was off, I don't think anyone noticed.
Reminds me of an old Fawlty Towers skit.

At the end of my time on corporate America, I worked from home due to nerve damage problems then my father passed away. So everything was conf call. Put on mute and I'll be smoking pipe on the porch.
