What's your favorite silver polishing product?

Will it damage the briar finish if some touches it?

Need I mask the wood before polishing?

Thanks.

I use Flitz paste polish. A tube lasts a long, long time and is very useful for a lot of things around the house. For light tarnish I'll use an impregnated polishing cloth. I also have the majority of my can of Nevr-Dull I was issued at MCRD San Diego in 1994. I prefer the Flitz but the Nevr-Dull works in a pinch and the smell brings back lovely memories.

I like Nevr Dull wadding.

Your great grandchildren yet unborn will be using your same can. How they get any repeat sales on this product is truly a mystery.

It polishes all metals, and I use it on briar and stems.

Flitz and Brasso are also products that the standard size toothpaste tube or little can should last for generations.:)

There’s some acid or chemical in all those jewelry cleaners that’s just pure magic.

Another good polishing agent is Barkeeper’s Friend.

I love Barkeepers Friend, but I wouldn't use it on silver. Grit is not fine enough. The idea is to remove tarnish or grime, not metal. That's why I use simichrome.

I own a Ruger Redhawk made about forty years ago, that my gunsmith claims a guy must have spent maybe forty hours polishing the thing using Semichrome.

It’s good stuff, and cheap.

Flitz or toothpaste . Jeremiah mentioned Bergeon Rodico Green to clean heavily tarnished silver.
I ordered the little stick and will give it a first try soon. Simichrome is supposed to do a fine job, but is hard to come by this end of the world. Any advice on how to would be greatly appreciated. With having to pay outrageous shipping costs that is.
Always mask the wood, better safe than sorry !

I use those white Mr Clean thingy's. It works really well.
Speaking of Magic Erasers, those are just blocks of Melamine, normally used as an industrial insulator.
If you skip the brand name it costs about 50x less than what you'd pay at the local supermarket: 9.78US $ |100 pcs/lot Melamine Sponge Magic Sponge Eraser Kitchen Bathroom Cleaning Eraser Dish Car Office Cleanser Sponge 100*60*20mm|Sponges & Scouring Pads| - AliExpress - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002631691596.html
