I recently went on a binge of "Burn Notice"
About a CIA agent who gets a burn notice. Meaning that the agency disavows him. Cuts him loose to fend for himself.

Any suggestions along the lines of The Equalizer, Hart to Hart, Crazy Like A Fox, etc. that don't suck 25+ years later?
Try the original series & film with Edward Woodward ‘Callan’. I still watch & enjoy them whenever they show up on the telly.
The Sweeney with John Thaw, Minder with George Cole, In Sickness & In Health, Lovejoy……I could go on & on!
Like Tobacco, you’ll find with TV shows that British is Best.🙂🇬🇧

you know there is only like one or two stories anyways. Just different variations of the basic story. I think the Odyssey has a good track record of being remade over and over again. So why not just go with a classic. Though in all seriousiousness it doesn't matter, what matters is if they're done well or not.

We really enjoyed the first few seasons. Then, like so many shows, it changed tone and became a much different show.

I’ve never seen “The Equalizer,” but I enjoy going back to “The Mentalist,” “Bones,” “White Collar,” and “Chuck.” “The Imposters” also stands up to multiple rewatches, although there are only two seasons. (I think I’ve seen that one three times and could easily start all over again.)

They're re-running Remington Steele here in Korea, on one of the channels. So I've been enjoying that of late.

Damn, another show I forgot! That was pretty similar to The Equalizer, no? I started watching this show from the early 00s called Life about a cop who was sent to jail for 12 years and got exonerated yada yada. It's alright.

No, not really. It's way to comical to compare to The Equalizer.
Laura Holt runs a PI company, but she feels that she's not getting the work she deserves, so she invents a CEO, Remington Steele, played by Pierce Brosnan.
read her opening monologue below, kind'a gives you the idea of the show.

"Try this for a deep, dark secret: the great detective, Remington Steele? He doesn't exist. I invented him. Follow. I always loved excitement, so I studied, and apprenticed, and put my name on an office. But absolutely nobody knocked down my door. A female private investigator seemed so... "feminine". So I invented a superior, a decidedly "masculine" superior. Suddenly, there were cases around the block. It was working like a charm...until the day HE walked in, with his blue eyes and mysterious past. And before I knew it, he assumed Remington Steele's identity. Now I do the work and he takes the bows. It's a dangerous way to live, but as long as people buy it, I can get the job done. We never mixed business with pleasure. Well, almost never. I don't even know his real name!"
