I'm new to pipes and pipe smoking -- purchased my first two pipes about a month ago. So far, I have three pipes, which are all Savinellis: a Clark's Favorite, a Roma Lucite 122, and a Mattone 626 KS.

I definitely got hit by PAD and TAD. 😅 Hopefully, it'll subside in a few months. 😆
It only gets worse. I started smoking a pipe in spring of 2023. Now I own 208 pipes and God knows how much tobacco, most of it I've never even tried. You cant go wrong with Peterson Early Morning Pipe, Nightcap and cult those are all great blends and in my weekly rotation, and and the Clark's Favorite is a great pipe.

Ditto. The newer versions of the Porto are not quite as dimensional. Kind of smoother.
The newer ones look like they're carving diagonals on the pipe in two directions, leading to a surface covered in diamond-shaped high spots. The older rustication is more random, and definitely has a rougher texture. I absolutely love the feel of the older rustication in my hand.

This one is a Savinelli Autograph 6 and is a Birthday Gift from a Dear Friend and was totally unexpected.
I couldn’t have chosen a nicer shape, finish or pipe for myself if I tried so it was a heartfelt and deeply appreciated gift to receive.
I’ve finally decided on it’s first smoke but only after contemplating on it for over a week. So now I’m just waiting for weather that’s conducive to sitting outback and taking my time with it. It’s been hard waiting to smoke this one but I refuse to rush it as it deserves to be slow smoked and enjoyed for it’s wonderful grain.

I have Ed down at DFL making a specific case for this pipe to match it and allow it to go out and see the world.
