Prodigal Son vibes. I love it.That's pretty deep when you mull it over. I like it, words to live by for a father.

Happens to the best of us, my friend!Wrong thread….
Does it stay that shiny regularly or do you polish it a lot?I can't possibly answer what is my "most prized" pipe, but this one, an 1883 Barling Magnum that I got from Ken Barnes, is very special to me:

Since it's cased, the sterling doesn't darken much at all. I'll give it a clean up before Vegas.Does it stay that shiny regularly or do you polish it a lot?
i’m in awe. what a beautiful pipe! I can’t imagine what a pipe like that would fetch on the market. I’m thinking it is best that you keep care of it and save someone like me from fiscal ruin But i must ask: does she have a name and does she smoke as well as she looks?Since it's cased, the sterling doesn't darken much at all. You always manage to surprise me Embers. I've seen you post some gems here through the years and that's the one you'd never let go of!
My youngest daughter chose it for me when she was three years old and my dad smoked it the last time I talked to him before he passed away. It's worth more than gold. You always manage to surprise me Embers. I've seen you post some gems here through the years and that's the one you'd never let go of!
I haven't given her a name. That's an interesting idea. She smokes very very well, but it's a commitment to smoke a bowl that large, so I don't smoke it often.i’m in awe. what a beautiful pipe! What are the bowl dimensions on that beauty?I haven't given her a name. That's an interesting idea. She smokes very very well, but it's a commitment to smoke a bowl that large, so I don't smoke it often.
I never saw a pipe my entire time in the army of almost a decade. If I could go back, I’d have one with me.Similar to what PaulRVA said above, I purchased this Dunhill Cumberland in the late 80's when I was just out of high school and it traveled with me many places around the world with the Army and on my person in general. I've given it some extended breaks while at home, but every time I go somewhere it ends up in my pouch.
