Whatever @condorlover1 says, you just can't deny the innate sex appeal of the humble Falcon.

I can't be bothered to dig out all of mine. By their very nature they end up in rucksacks, coat pockets and in the shed. The great thing about Falcons is they're almost impossible to get a bad smoke from, so they're great for beginners, and they're great for travelling and throwing in a pocket. Since @simong mentioned them, here is the Peaks Pipes falcon bowl I bought at the UK pipe show:View attachment 310246
@jaingorenard: That looks like a Bakelite insulator from an early 1930 wireless!

smokes like a beauty too! have seen a few folk complaining about breaking them in, but honestly my first bowl was a dream
I got some briar flavor when breaking in 2 of my first 3 bowls, but not from the third. Then I bought a Dublin bowl and didn’t bother with any sort of breaking in, and it has been perfectly fine. I probably won’t bother with it anymore.

Thanks to a relative in the hood ol' USA, I managed to purchase a real gem for my little museum of Falcon pipes, and thanks to another visiting relative, it has landed on UK shores this week - I have literally been waiting nearly a year for this to get here!!

This is a genuinely unused, boxed Falcon from the US and I'm dating it to the 1950s. The Info sheet prices pipes at $3 and there's a sticker on the box that reads 11 21 55? Info or corrections welcome.

A new bronze International Falcon stem as well as some new bowls showed up the other day. My little Falcon family grows!

I do very much like the traditional look of the bronze colored International stem, though unfortunately it doesn't do the thing I bought it to do. I really wanted to use it with 6mm Dr. Grabow or Medico paper tube filters, but alas they simply don't fit and rattle around loose inside the stem so the smoke passes around them instead of through them. Savinelli 6mm balsa wood filters and Vauen 6mm Dr. Perl Junior charcoal filters fit just fine, but my favorite 6mm paper tube filters that I like using most just don't fit. Bummer!

On the plus side, I now have bowls for all the different kinds of blend types I like to smoke! Here's how I've dedicated them:

Hunter Dublin - Virginias & Burleys
Hunter Bulldog - English blends
Hunter Billiard - Aromatics
Standard Dark Billiard - Lakelands
Bantam Dublin - Strong Dark Fired blends
Ornate Meerschaum - Anything I darn well please!
