Very cool Stanwell, samcoffeeman. Thanks for posting the pic. I really like those mid-century/60's modern-style Danish pipes.

Like Harris, all of my pipes smoke very well and they don't stay long if they don't. But, the two that are the cream of a good crop are:
James Upshall P Bent Dublin

1930's Comoys 499 Extraordinaire - George Dibos did a tuneup on this pipe and it just flat out is amazing to smoke.

My best smokes these days are coming from my Comoys.
Comoy's pre-war Extraordinaire bullcap.

Thanks for that info, fishnbanjo and for sharing a photo of your very rare pipe. I'll have to add Julie's book to my list of ones to look out for.

I smoke English/Balkan blends for a change of pace but I'm partial to flakes, so it's no wonder that I love these two Wileys, which have conical bowls.

I'd also like to add this. It's a Stanwell, and I don't know anything about it. It's been a long time since I'v smoked it, I'll have to fire it up once my mouth heals.

These are two of my favorites. Top is an old GBD Prodigy Cragstone. I picked it up at an antique store in the 90's. The bottom is a Savinelli Autograph that I won on eBay a few years back.
I know, I have some work to do on those stems...

Smoking some 2005 Escudo in the Tom Eltang Tribute to Bo Nordh Ballerina and this pipe was the other I had for consideration!

troutface, my one Wiley is a Galleon (I really like his rustication), but I have to say that Wiley's briar smokes as sweet as any I have. I don't know if it's the briar itself, the oil-curing process, or both, but the one I have is great for English blends.

Without question, my consistently best smoker would be the Baki meer in my avatar.

Another contender would be this and I'm smoking Blue Note in my Jess Chonowitsch 2 knuckle Bamboo Billiard
