Resurrecting this thread

An Orlik Straight Grain shape 089 straight billiard with a tapered vulcanite stem.
With London England stamped on shaft.

Unusually with a brass disc instead of the usual "o" inset on the top of the stem

I will update with a couple more when I get around to cleaning them up.

Meanwhile I hope Dave (@Ahi Ka ) will chime in with his collection, including a beautiful cased set

These ones are all pre-cadogan/80s

In the middle is the first estate pipe I ever purchased. It’s an Orlik de luxe and started me off on this rabbit hole. I won it for $3.

clockwise from bottom left

2 old bond streets
3 virgins (natural finished supremes)
3 deluxes
1949 captain black
Byford
Hurricane Deluxe

@SBC post some pics of the supreme, virgin and corona I sent your way. Or I can if you want.

if I’m honest, I’ve found the deluxe pipes to be more than outstanding burners.

Ok been meaning to get to that Virgin's stem, so thanks for the kick in the pants to move it up to the top of my list ;-) Give me a couple days to get that one cleaned up, and then I'll post those three along with my de luxe billiard. ;-)

Top to bottom --
  • Virgin
  • Supreme
  • Corona
  • De Luxe
The Virgin's stem is now freshly de-oxidized and polished up, as you can see. Love how it turned out.
The other three, while they could use some work, are in my "good enough" range for my use. The Virgin was far more oxidized.

The top three I received from @Ahi Ka, not too long ago.

The De Luxe at the bottom I've had for a bit. I love its clean, classic lines and proportions, but I do wish that the chamber walls were a tad thicker.

Pretty excited to have added these to the collection today. Now I better get them cleaned up and put back into work.

1918? Pair of Bruyere Antique made for H. L - Henry love tobacconists perhaps. Any help with getting a good read of this date letter would be much appreciated. It’s amateur hour down under

Great looking pipes - the stubby billiard and the cased pair.
You're going to be a very busy boy over the next few weeks with these and the other arrivals.
Have fun ?
