I got a couple more last week. Both old ones with amber type stem.
First is a thick billiard with an ornate cap and band. I think it’s 1890s or so mainly because the style doesn’t last much into the 20th century. The applique is brass. No case.

The second is case branded J.T.S.. I have no clue what that means. Maybe it’s a monogram. But there’s other pipes out there with the same label. It’s a zulu. 1910 at a guess.

Just browsing through after creating an account. Here goes my first ever post.

First Meerschaum I bought. Definitely paid too much for this in Istanbul when I was still fresh in the Meerschaum world and knew too little. Nevertheless, it’s beautiful and smokes great, with quite a wide conical chamber.

A NOS Jobey I picked up off the ‘bay the other day. A little pricey, but too attractive to pass up.
I haven’t found much about it as Jobey’s history is a bit all over the place, but in-so-far I can say that it seems as high of a quality gourd calabash pipe as has ever passed through my hands. Internal taper-bowl is really nice and thick, and it boasts a near 1.5 inch depth, which is unfortunately more than a little uncommon with calabashes in my experience. Everything fits tight as well. It might be a while ‘till I smoke it, but gosh, is it a beauty.
If anyone has any idea about how old this might be, please let me know!
