Some of the Lee Bullmoose pipes have better than average grain for a Lee. It looks as though yours might as well.
The grain’s pretty decent all around. Your categorization of it as a Bullmoose is probably better. I think of a Bullmoose as having beefier proportions, but the shape itself matches up.

A while back I scored a nifty set: 3 7-pt star Apple with a box, sales card, and sock. I suspect the accessories may not be original to the pipe simply because I have a box with 7-pt stars and these are the 5s. But it’s a nice set nonetheless.

Yes, some of those old extra big Lees did have some very nice grain. Excellent. Thanks for sharing.
