I have a love hate relationship with this thread it's such a PAD trigger. Love the Thorns especially. Now for another newer model though. Red-Root billiard from Greywoodie.com. Can't beat it for $41. Blast on the logo side of the bowl and the pattern "problems" on the right clinched the acquisition.

Photoed these and posted on another thread, 1928-1932 Kaywoodie Patent Applied For Syncrostem. The one with the larger cloverleaf is earlier in the PAF era. They are some sweet smoking pipes.

I don’t know if it’s allowed here but I thought it was interesting. I’ve no connection to this but I was browsing eBay when I noticed this: “LOT of 100+ year old unsmoked stummels.” It’s said to be K B&B stummels with corroded bands and disintegrated Bakelite stems. I just thought it was weird and interesting. Anyway, it’s easy enough to search and find if you want. ETA: let me know if I shouldn’t have posted about this. I may have ruined someone’s bidding position.

I fully broke that pipe in on this 2009 fishing trip to the White River.



My youngest son and friend David kept asking me if my pipe had caught on fire.

Somebody needs to smoke them all the way to the bottom, sometime.

That is 100% correct. They used all kinds of different emblems in the early days at KB&B.

According to Who Made That Pipe, Hawthorne was made by the Hudson Universal Pipe Co. Thats definitely not a KB&B stinger. They did use some that were pointed like that but none that fit into stem like that. I’d say this one is post WWII though.

Started smoking a pipe in Nov after getting my dad’s strongly Danish collection, then got a handful of cobs, then a mini-meer, then and estate meer.
Last week I decided I needed a meer lined briar, and wanted it to be a Kaywoodie.
After missing out on three flea bay NOS unsmoked Kaywoodie meer lined models, I landed this guy earlier this afternoon, hope I didn’t get taken to the cleaners too badly but I can’t wait to get it.
#40 Flame Grain push stem-any idea on age?

Nice Pipe, Flame Grain Meerschaum shows up sometime around 1955. So your pipe is likely from late 50's into the 60's.

One is called a Cedric. It has a spiral stinger with no holes. I’m just wondering if anyone knows when these Premier pipes were made. It’s confusing because they’re part of the Kaywoodie web of history.

Reis Premier patented the Drinkless fitment 1926 and then purchased Kaufman Bros & Body. The Kaywoodie line came shortly after that around 1927. So Kaywoodies were a product of the RP KB&B merger. Premiers continued to be produced up until WWII.

I see someone on FB claiming their Beverly Premier is 100 years old. I'm wondering how they can date it. It's "Italian Bruyere." I'm trying to remember what that means but maybe that phrase dates it. It's a beautiful pipe but I'm kind of skeptical it's '20s. I'm wondering if any of them can be dated although maybe the stingers give a clue? Is there any place on line that lists their lines of pipes? I see nothing. There are shape numbers and model names on the pipes but I see no guides to these anywhere.
